------Prelude to Winter------

Music = Autumn Leaves

I saw the coming signs
and wondered at the moon
The fall extravaganza
would be here pretty soon
The first rain of the season
today fell on the lands
Announcing the coming pagentry,
drumming empty cans
I closed my eyes and thought about
this annual distraction
from the routine summer life
and the coming three-ring action
The trapeeze act from way on high
underneath the bluesky tents
As acrobats do summersaults and spiral twist
to capture my suspense
While on the ground the circus clowns
run hither , to and fro
and in the street ballerina's dance
upon each tiny toe
Each member of this circus show
is proud to be so bold
wearing splendid outfits
of orange and red and gold
So join me if you will,
invite everyone you know
Let's watch the fall spectacular......
