------The Christmas Tree------

Music = Silver Bells

It seems to be that time again. It happens every year.
Its time to change your attitude and extend a yuletide cheer
Put a smile upon your face and sing a happy song
It may have come along too soon but it's time to join along
Go mail your friends some Christmas cards even to some whom you don't know
Light a fire and pretend it's cold and maybe pray for snow
Again it's time to make that search way deep into the wood
You've got to find the perfect tree tho' past years you never could
This year will be a different story, the tree will be the best
If it takes all day and night there's one that meets the test
It must be tall, round and full and have no barren places
The top must be just exactly so because that's where the angel graces
One farm was searched, and then another, and finally just one more
The perfect tree has just been cut and was taken out the door
Yes, it was found and it was cut but surely not by you
Your not surprised and not dismayed and know exactly what to do
you turn around and head for town, recalling since you were a tot
The last, best place to find a tree is in K-Mart's parking lot.
Finally the chosen tree is in the car and tied there with some twine
You think to yourself that when you pass on in life
"I hope God's standards aren't like mine."
