   ----The Trail----

Have you ever taken to the trail
from here to far away
To travel over snowy crests
and greet the break of day
To take the best and worst of life
and wrap it in a song
Which mother nature sings to you
as you proceed along

From valley floors to mountains high
a test of your self-worth
To ride along and face your soul
and elements of earth
Maintaining all your courage
and relying on your trust
And faith in your companions
to traverse the snowy dust

To possess the heart and spirit
of pursuing such a quest
and arriving at trail’s end
will mean you’ve passed the test
For then you'll truly understand
the purpose of life, my friend
although it may be tough and long,
to travel the trail is to win
