------Tomorrow's Sunrise------

Older but wiser surely you jest
you silently ponder
as slowly your sun sets in the west
your mind soon drifts off somewhere in space
often you wonder
who you really are in this world's rat race

Is life a great gift like mankind teaches
or like grains of sand
each one so small yet all make up beaches
all through your life many questions arise
what's nature's plan
and why must the answer be a surprise

As time marches onward you think of your friends
but you know inside
it will be just you when you reach the end
no matter how treasured and close someone may get
inside you confide
that after you're gone how soon they'll forget

You know that you think, therefore you are
but can it be true
that all life on earth once came from a star
will mankind soon vanish in nature's strange twist
truth will elude you
are you ever after or do you cease to exist

Where in the puzzle does your life fit in
is it a game
what is the ending and why did it begin
you know life started and will end alone
yet questions remain
does life have meaning after you're gone

Maybe for others or maybe you too
no one can say
that life everlasting will really come true
man's hope springs eternal but except for a few
just live for the day
if tomorrow don't come you did the best you could do.
