------Free Spirit------

Music = Dust in the Wind

Imagine yourself as a spirit divine
to be as free as the wind.
To go where you want
in the blink of an eye
and never feel wanting again.

Is this truly the dream which religion is based,
to not suffer from want or desire.
No pain in our heart,
no emotion but love.
Is it vision or truth we aspire.

Is life just a life, with pain and with joy
Do we bite from the apple of fate
Or could chances we take
and roads that we follow
perhaps forecast a heavenly gate

The heaven we paint is glory and gold,
the dream we wish we all had.
But what we don't know
of spiritual existence
somehow it seems kind of sad.

Just consider yourself for eternity
not having one sensory preception.
No laughter or smiles
no achievments, no goals,
no ambition or sudden conception.

All logic and truth, not one mistake
just sunshine with no clouds of rain.
Please tell of the joy
and explain the true purpose
of just "being" with nothing to gain.

Tell me of spirits, what are their ways
Are there women and children and men
If life's everlasting,
would you know long dead relations
and know who was stranger or friend

Now when thinking of heaven, it's luster has dimmed
I'm not sure it's as grand as it's shown.
Perhaps it's not really
my decision to make.
It could be our lives are on loan.

Or then there's the case where it might come to pass,
religion could be drastically wrong.
We'll not know for sure
until we have died
If once you are dead you are gone
