------The Parliment of my Being------

Sometimes
along life's
pathways
the answers
get complex
and logical
conclusions
get tangled,
the first,
the last,
the next

so many
pressing issues
which conscience
deems done right
there's left
the right
the middle
with merit
for each fight

doubt seems
to always weaken
the levees
of the mind
as questions
flood and crumble
solutions
that you find

notices dispatched to the heart
the mind
the body
the soul
to sort
and find
one answer
as a common goal

an exercise in
compromise
where honor
can abide
where
both you
and your decision
can peacefully
reside

The parliment
of my being
assembles
now and then
to meet and
give me guidance
for problems
I can't mend
