------The Wind across the Praire------

Now and then, across the mind's uneven creases,
waves of self-consciousness softly touches,
as a warm breeze breathes
across golden fields of poppies.
Not instant enlightenment,
but slowly,
as dawn gently awakening
the eyes of early morning.
A sensation...of knowing truth,
unexplainable feelings
emanating
deep within the body's core,
each cell intensified by knowledge.
Not educated patterns
from learned institutions,
experience or lessons of life
but simple connection
with all things that ever were
or will be.
Suddenly grasping
existance's reason
and logic.
With fleeting
evanescence
the connection to realization closes,
answers escape.
So quickly,
the moment is gone
leaving dark emptiness
of wondering, questioning.
A familiar ache..
finding again
one's soul
alone in the universe.
