------Introspect------

Where have you been and where are you going
Better yet where are you today
You've fought gallant battles and climbed mighty mountains
Yet you still can't remember the way
Sometimes you know you've been here before
Or is it some trick of the mind
Desert or ocean, though often you've traveled
The same pathways you're unlikely to find

Is life a wonderful or tedious journey,
A trip that you made in the past
For once in a while you remember small details
And wonder when in your life they were cast
Was it last week, last year or last decade
Or perhaps in a life lived before
Are you repeating a role in a modern day setting
yet can't recall what's past or in store.

Is it a curse or a misunderstood blessing
if indeed your life starts over anew
Why can't you remember right or wrong from the past
And not repeat the mistakes that you do
I guess that all mankind would gain an infinite wisdom
If life repeats and you remembered,.. it's true
But then if something happened you couldn't explain
You could not proclaim DE-JA-VU.
