------Magnificent Desolation------

From the sea and looking west
on the coastline's rocky shore,
face the stinging bitter seabreeze
taste the spray and feel the mighty roar.

Its hard to turn and cross the mountains
going east to desert's barren floor.
Yet, this land too is filled with beauty
of the ocean's magnitude and more.

The flowers fill this so-called wasteland
when springtime storms bring precious rain
The sun emblazing golden clouds of hope
against the mountains purple stain

The silence brings great peace and closeness
within ones soul, a quiet refrain
speaking volumes of God's goodness
merging broken spirit,
heart and soul again
