------Heaven's Gift------

A pretty smile, a glorious face,
an attitude of gold
I thank the Lord for sending down
an angel to behold
A star to light the darkest night
with a happy cheerful voice
Whistling stormy clouds away
to make all hearts rejoice

She can catch a ball, chase a rabbit
or tempt a fish with bait
But really loves to ride a horse,
read books and stay up late
She dances softly in my mind
to make each day a pleasure
And I accept without reserve,
none could replace this treasure

A happy child with carefree ways
I'm sure when she was born,
her spirit's blessed from day to day
by the ancient unicorn
Perhaps her life as years go by
be filled with joy untold
and she will keep close in her heart
her gift from days of old

If I might chance to write a song
the verse would come with ease
her spirit, the words, her laugh, the tune
and sung by a playful breeze
So again I say that I was blessed
she makes my life sublime
I'll love and hold her in my heart
until the end of time.
