------Battle Grounds------

We fight, oh we do fight,
with every fiber in our body we fight
You can hear sabers rattle through our life,
each and every day and night

We put up a battle royal,
we fight at birth and scream and yell
for small attention we must cry hard
and oh yes we do fight like hell

Rest a little, fight a lot,
as we grow up we must fight much more
with sibling or friend we will fight
for toys, for girls, for boys, or an unwanted chore

We even fight with our parents
to have the right to go out the door

 Unaware life's major battle begins
just when we think we are free
we fight for knowledge and for jobs
sometimes it's either you or it's me

Fight to pay bills, put food on the table
and a roof over our head
sometimes weary of life's constant battles
we had as soon just stay in our bed

we fight for the right or against what we think wrong
 never to fully understand
that most of the fights that happen in life
are not from rules made by man

But the main reason for all confrontations
is survival in a no winner land

It comes to each one of us natural
and it's hidden somewhere in our genes
without our urge to fight and compete
we would never have invented machines

So think what you may the fights may be hard
but you know they all have a reason
We made it to where we are today
by mankind fighting each day of each season.
