JUDITH WAUGH ANDERSON 1946-2010
Funeral services for Mrs. Judith Waugh Anderson, 63, of Auburn, will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Auburn First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Frank Covington officiating. Burial will follow in Auburn Memorial Park. Visitation for Mrs. Anderson will be held one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Anderson was born on April 15, 1946 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Henry and Nan Waugh and passed away on February 3, 2010 in Auburn, Alabama. Mrs. Anderson graduated from Tuscaloosa High School. She attended Mt. Vernon Jr. College in Washington D.C. and graduated from the University of Alabama. After graduation she worked as the secretary to the U of A Medical School Dean of Admissions in Birmingham and taught school in Jefferson County before moving to Auburn to marry. Mrs. Anderson spent several years as a social worker in Auburn before beginning a long career as an English teacher at Lochapoka High School. Mrs. Anderson was an active member of Auburn First Presbyterian Church. She was a charter member and treasurer of the Auburn Preservation League. She was also the treasurer for the Auburn Downtown Merchants Association for over ten years. Mrs. Anderson was the proprietor of Auburn Hardware and a member of the War Eagle Garden Club. In her spare time she was the director of gourmet sales for Wickles Pickles. Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Copeland Anderson. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her two sons: Allen Copeland II and his wife Martha Richardson Anderson of Waverly, AL and Hunter Waugh Anderson of Denver, CO, three sisters: Nancy Waugh Dowling of Meridian, MS, Betty Waugh Green and Randi Waugh Snow and her husband Gary all of Tuscaloosa, AL, two brothers-in-law: Frank Hunter Anderson, III and his wife Sandra and Seth Copeland Anderson and his wife Linda, one sister-in-law, Katherine Ann Anderson, nieces: Sarah Snow Moore, Katherine Dowling Lee, Elizabeth Ann Dublin, Virginia Brownlie Anderson and Lela Knox Anderson, nephews: Frank Barigala Anderson, Seth Richard Anderson, Henry Waugh Dowling, Randall Waugh Green, Judson Wesley Dowling, Matthew William Green and Henry Donald Snow, and 10 great nieces/ nephews.
