TUSCALOOSA - Terria Wood Plott, age 69, of Tuscaloosa, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 24, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. today, September 28, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa with Dr. David Dockery officiating. Graveside service will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church before the service. Terria was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Wood and Faye Pierson Wood and her nephew, Erek Wood. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Belva Loy Wood; her son, Hunter Lloyd Plott (Tracy); and her two daughters, Heather Plott Sanders (Scott) and Haleigh Plott Bullard, all of Tuscaloosa. She is also remembered by her eleven precious grandchildren: Elaina Faye Plott, Jonathan Hunter Plott, Victoria Maye Plott, and Alexandra Colchester Plott; Brenton Scott Sanders, John Pierson Sanders, and Natalie Heather Sanders; Terria Kelsey Biggs, Kinsley Hunter Biggs, Breyden Jeffery Biggs and Joshua Lloyd Bullard; aunts, Mary Alma Wood and Martha Pierson; and uncle, Bobby Wood and his wife, Jan. Terria is lovingly remembered by numerous cousins whom she adored as well as by special family members and friends: Sissy Plott Duren, Pat and Jerry Plott, Carol and Geoff Plott, Sherry Plott, Bill Plott, Bertha Bishop, Kristy and Allen Sanford, Richard Davis, Sue Morrison, Karen and Michael Morrison, Jan Morrison, Gloria Ray, Katherine Brown, Tulane Duke, Doug Duke, Dee Ward, Zona Ray, Diane Johnson, Martha Connor, Gert Silas, Elizabeth Brannon, Bessie Mills, Martha Sue Sanders, Martha and Doug Dyer, Suzanne Moorer, Diane Barnes, Tammy Hollyhand, Jayne Shirley and Jimmy and Bonnie Garner. Terria was born November 16, 1946 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Lloyd and Faye Wood. Terria graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1964 and attended Judson College in Marion, Alabama. She carried on the family tradition of being a talented interior decorator and home builder. Her passion for turning a house into a home led Terria to volunteer her talents throughout the Tuscaloosa community. Terria was a member of the Junior Welfare Association and worked tirelessly as it transitioned to The Junior League of Tuscaloosa. For many years, she served as Chairman of the Horse Show Committee. She was a member of the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society and was a charter member of the VIP Ladies Group at The University of Alabama. Terria was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa. Her strong faith was evident to everyone around her. She was eager to speak of her Bible studies and God's work in her life. Terria had a generous, sweet spirit. Her biggest fault was that she could never say no. She loved people and the friendships she developed through the years gave her great joy. Terria had the gift of hospitality and loved to entertain. She was always a gracious and perfect hostess. Terria's eleven grandchildren were the center of her life. "Ter-rer"/"Ki-ki" never missed a ballgame, horse show or any function involving them. She was extremely proud of their athletic and academic achievements. She loved being with her children and grandchildren at the beach, where they made many lasting memories. Terria was a true Southern lady and she impressed upon her children and grandchildren her values and faith in the Lord. She leaves a legacy of generosity, kindness and love. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Plott, Brenton Sanders, J.P. Sanders, Breyden Biggs, Joshua Lloyd Bullard, Kirk Wood, Richard Davis and Craig Wilson.
