Kay Koeppel Troxler Obituary TUSCALOOSA Kay Koeppel Troxler, age 65, of Tuscaloosa, died Nov. 7, 2011, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Paul Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her father, William Edwin "Bill" Koeppel, and her mother, Reba Wilson Koeppel. Survivors include her husband, Jerry W. Troxler; her sons, Jerry Michael Troxler of Nashville, Tenn. and John Derek Troxler (Miwa) of Plano, Ill.; and her brother, E. Wilson Koeppel (Melissa). Kay was a 1964 graduate of Tuscaloosa High School and a 1969 graduate of The University of Alabama. She was a member of Phi Mu sorority at The University of Alabama and later became chapter advisor. She was a member and past secretary/treasurer of Tuscaloosa Personnel Association, a president of the Alabama Society of Personnel Administrators (now Alabama Healthcare HR Professionals), a member of the American Society for Healthcare HR Administrators, a graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa, a member of the Society for HR Management and Tuscaloosa HR Professionals, an adjunct professor at The University of Alabama, a member of Zonta Club, and a chairman of the Board of the West Alabama Chapter of the American Red Cross. She was employed at DCH Health Systems in the Human Resources Department for 36 years. She retired in February of 2010 as Vice President of Human Resources, where she oversaw volunteers, organizational employee assistance programs, development and education, and employee health. Pallbearers will be Eddie Ellis, Jack Herron, Hoyt Hester, Jim Jenkins, Bev Leigh, and George Shelton. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Keith DeBell, Dr. John Dubay, Lee Thomas, and employees of DCH Human Resources Division. The family would like to thank special friends Ginger Thomas, Betty Hamner, Jean Herron, Phyllis Kirkland, and Laura Fikes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to DCH Cancer Center. ..
