TUSCALOOSA Charles Gordon Winstead, age 64, of Tuscaloosa, died Oct. 2, 2009, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Winstead, Jr., his mother, Janice Winstead, and his brothers, Darryl and Dwain Winstead. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Jacqueline Lee Winstead; his daughter, Kimberley Lee (Felix); his sons, Lance Winstead (Michelle) and Horace Winstead (Amy); his sisters, Michelle Kemp (Ray) and Robin Sansom (Jim); his brother, Doug Winstead (Hazel); and his grandchildren, Trent and Savannah Winstead, Dalton Lee, and Duncan and Aileen Grace Winstead. Charlie was devoted to his family-his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and coached little league baseball and football in Duncanville for 12 years. He retired from B.F. Goodrich after 35 years of service. A special thank you to all his old and new friends who greatly supported him and his family during his illness. Honorary pallbearers are employees of B.F. Goodrich, the Turtle Club, Charles and Laura Lee Estes, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wilkins, Cliff Terry, Glenn Mills, and all friends old and new, and special thanks to Dr. Larry Skelton, Dr. Emig, Dr. Angela Young of Kirklin Clinic, employees of Amedisys Home Health Care, Marilyn Walton, and Hazel Winstead.
