Charles Henry "Skip" Tubbs of McCalla, AL, born 08/30/1946, son of Clarence and Evelyn Tubbs of Tuscaloosa, AL, passed away 08/01/2018. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary Masters Tubbs, his children Jeff Tubbs, Scott (Teresa) Tubbs, Christy (Kent) Rigdon, Gary (Regina) Yager, Melissa Paulk, Gayla (Nick) Kuykendall, Brandon (Angel) Yager. Grandchildren Kandace (Keith) Kirkley, Brandon (Haley) Tubbs, Conner (Jordan) Tubbs, Kelsey Tubbs, Jennifer (Joseph) Taylor, Amanda (Andrew) Smith, Blair (Dakota) Britt, Beyton (Kim) Yager, Lucas Kuykendall, Ryan Rigdon, Elisabeth Kuykendall, Garrett Rigdon, and Matthew Rigdon. Great Grandchildren Evie Tubbs, J.D. Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Caleb Smith, Liam Smith, Braxton Yager, and twin girls due in December 2018. Sisters Ann Causey, and Shirley (Ruble) Ray. Brother in Law John Masters. Pallbearers are Brandon Tubbs, Keith Kirkley, Conner Tubbs, Beyton Yager, Lucas Kuykendall, and Ryan Rigdon. Honorary pallbearers are Dakota Britt, J.D. Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Garrett Rigdon, Matthew Rigdon, Caleb Smith, and Liam Smith. He will also be remembered by a host of cousins and friends. A special thanks to the Oncology floor of Grandview Medical Center, his favorite nurse, Ms. Mary Mathangani, and Dr. Benjamin Jones. Skip retired from B.F. Goodrich Tire Company after 21 years of service, and was self employed in lawn service for 24 years. He was passionate about Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was at his happiest spending time with all of his grandchildren. He enjoyed hosting the annual Langston Family Reunion. Visitation will be Friday, August 3, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home, with the funeral service Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 10:00am, with Brother George Cooley and Brother Ron Martin officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Springville Cemetery, Springville, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Lakeview Baptist Church, McCalla, AL, or to the American Cancer Society.
