------Sunshine and Rain------
The man was old and cheerful, saying he'd like to live life twice
When asked why he enjoys life so, he offered this advice
There seems to be two different me's
I know not whence they came
One always walks in sunshine
One always finds the rain
The sunshine guy's a happy man
I like him most of all
He seems to always wear a smile
and when he walks, walks tall
He faces life with honesty
he takes what comes his way
He climbs the hills and valleys
and lives his best each day
His heart is kind and giving
each task receives his best
a pattern for the rest of us
when life puts us to the test
To him, God gave us life
for which we should give thanks
A gift that all should cherish
in the rich or poorest ranks
About that other guy I've known
I don't know what to say
His life is dark and dismal
and gets darker every day
He seems to think the world owes him
his duties he will duck
and all the things that come his way
are just plain old bad luck
Each day he lives, when sunset comes
he's glad the day is over
He wishes he had not been born,
life's not a field of clover
When morning brings the bright sunrise
he's seen no beauty yet
To him it's just another day
to work, complain and sweat
When he appears, I don't back down
It's a short unwelcomed stay
I fill my heart with joy and love
and he quickly fades away
So never walk in rain my friend, keep your life in sunshine's glow
You'll love each day God gives you and you'll reap more than you sow
